Quote of the Day
It is certainly the Creator's will that the desires and talents he himself has planted in us be realized.
by Catherine Marhsall
This quote reminds me of the movie, Chariots of Fire, where the Christian runner, Eric Liddell, describes the delight he finds in running becvause it's clear to him that's what God made him to do. He says, when I run, I feel the Lord's pleasre on me. The struggle for survival means far too many of us settle for doing what our hands find rather than living out the dream God has prepared.

Why the title
If you know something about Hemmerich's you know that I have inherited a few things. 1-An amusing enjoyment of my Germanic heritage. 2-A love of the English language and the desire to take advantage of every opportunity to use it in person, print, or other. 3-An opinion on just about everything. Can you guess how all of these coalesce together in what you're about to read...if you read it?
My grandfather had an editorial with the title I have given this blog. I didn't know him well as he died when I was quite young, but it's amazing how short encounters can mold us. From the time I was a very young boy I would talk to him for hours on end, shattering the notion that boys can't sit still. I can't remember all of our conversations, but he was one of many who gave me a love for wrestling through the issues of our day and striving to articulate them intelliegently, while winning as many to your side as possible.
